Big Momma's House is a American crime comedy film directed by Raja Gosnell. The film stars Martin Lawrence and Paul Giamatti. The film was released on June 2, 2000 and distributed by 20th Century Fox Pictures.


Plot[]

FBI agent, Malcolm Turner and his partner, John are assigned to capture a escaped convict known as Lester Vesco, who was originally serving a life sentence in prison but escaped his cell and killed a prison doctor and took off in his car. Malcolm and John are sent to Cartersville, Georgia to stake out the house of a elderly woman, Hattie Mae Pierce (simply known as "Big Momma") who is the grandmother of Lester's ex-girlfriend, Sherry Pierce. The FBI suspects that Sherry aided him during the robbery by giving him the key to the vault. Big Momma unexpectedly leaves town for a couple of weeks, the two sneak into her house and Sherry calls the house and Malcolm disguises his voice as Big Momma in order to lure Sherry and possibly obtain a confession. Malcolm then disguises himself as Big Momma until he can get a confession from Sherry and nab Lester.
